Wellness
Employers participating in the Chamber health insurace program can take advantage of the Chamber's Wellness Initiative if they submitted their wellness enrollment forms in January 2012. This initiative is a partnership between the Chamber, Medical Mutual and employers to encourage wellness in the workplace with the goal of increasing productivity and potentially decreasing healthcare rates. Learn more about how unhealthy lifestyle behaviors are driving healthcare costs in America.
The 2012 Wellness Initiative has three components:
Step 1 – Awareness – to assess current lifestyle behaviors and health status employees must complete the online Health Assessment available on My Health Plan and receive a personalized health profile including risk factors for developing certain chronic conditions. Click here for more information about the Health Assessment.
Step 2 – Education – To improve health knowledge and identify ways to improve wellbeing, employees must complete one Education Module OR complete one SuperWell Seminar accessible via Medical Mutual’s SuperWell for Life site. (SW site.) Learn more about accessing the SuperWell site (available February 15th) and completing steps 2 and 3 here.
Step 3 – Engagement – Regular physical activity or eliminating tobacco will improve employees current health and reduce their risk for chronic conditions. Employees must choose ONE of the following SuperWell programs:
• 3 months of cardio-log entries- with at least 8 unique day entries during each 30 day period on the SW site.
• 3 months of logging walking steps via the Walking Program on the SW site, with at least 100,000 steps logged during the required timeframe (2000 steps = 1 mile)
• Enroll in the SuperWell Quitline (tobacco cessation) Click here for more information about enrolling in Quitline.
